Making a Difference in the Lives of Children

Austin Friends of Guatemala is dedicated to making the lives of all Guatemalans better. With more than 50% of the population under the age of 18, the children really are the country's best hope. With the tide of change sweeping our planet, we can begin again with the children of Guatemala, reversing years of repression and discrimination by feeding, educating and helping care for the youth of the country.

Hope and Progress
In Guatemala

In 2001 the children of Santiago had no desks, they were sitting in the mud without even a roof over their heads. Through tireless community effort and involvement by the parents, teachers and small groups of individuals needing to make a difference, things are turning around!

As of recently, the school is in an adequate building with an enrollment of 250 children. With construction of another school underway in a remote area called Chaca'ya.

What Can You Do?

Your monetary donations go directly to the children and their schools in Guatemala. We make quarterly trips to Guatemala with the money donated to purchase much needed food for the children and donated school supplies from the states.
